María del Mar Hernández Gil de Lamadrid - Technician, Photography & Media Resources
María del Mar is a Puerto Rican interdisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Using photography, video, and performance as a creative and conceptual process, her practice approaches the diasporic experiences as a migrant and the Hurricane Maria aftermath in Puerto Rico. She uses her body to metaphorically produce actions of resistance, emotion, and reclamation of power. María del Mar’s work has been shown nationally and internationally.
She completed a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, and is a Master of Fine Arts in Photography, from Parsons School of Design, The New School.
