The Darkroom is open 7-days a week.

Summer 2024 hours

Monday & Wednesday

9AM – 10PM

Tuesday, Thursday & Friday

9AM – 8PM

Saturday & Sunday

11AM – 7PM

Due to the high volume of courses running in Fall 2024 semester, new orientations will be limited to those enrolled in a darkroom course. Those who have previously taken a Film Processing and Darkroom orientation will have continued access. Please contact ERC for more info.

Darkroom lab facilities located on the fifth floor of 66 Fifth Avenue include:

• a 20-station black-and-white darkroom equipped with Bessler enlargers capable of printing 4″ x 5″ negatives
• a film developing area
• a color-balanced print viewing room that allows students to make precise color corrections
• a print finishing room for drying, pressing, and mounting photographs
