Photography Studios

Open to: all students enrolled in the prerequisite class

Academic Year Update

Some access to the photography studios is limited to students enrolled in the Photography Masters and specific Pre-College programs until July 24.

All facilities will be closed in observance of Juneteenth and Independence Day.

Mandatory Orientation

The photography studios are available to students who are enrolled in or have completed the required prerequisite class and orientation.

Students who aren’t oriented to use the studio and are looking for a studio experience are encouraged to visit the ERC to checkout mobile background studio and lighting kits. Studio kits include a background stand and the choice of a white, black, or grey backdrop.

Reservation / Use Protocol

The photography studios are available to students who are enrolled in or have completed the required prerequisite class and orientation.

Students wishing to use the Photography Studios can check in or book a reservation with the stationed technicians at the Equipment Resource Center (ERC) in N001 of 66 Fifth Avenue. Reservations can only be made in-person and may be booked once per calendar week and up to two calendar weeks in advance. Walk-ins are welcomed while there’s occupancy.

About the Photography Studios

The Photography Studios are located across three floors and range from 500 square feet to 800 square feet in size. The studios are equipped with Profoto strobes, Nanlite RGB LED Spotlights, base grip equipment—including c-stands, grip arms, crossbars—and paper seamlesses in grey, white, black, and some with with chroma green. There are also tether stations outfitted with high-speed iMac computers, including the Adobe Creative Cloud and Capture One for tethering purposes. Additionally, the ERC houses additional strobes, continuous lighting equipment, light modifiers, and grip equipment.
